Sea turtle hatchling in ICU at Clearwater Marine Aquarium

A sea turtle hatching is in the ICU at Clearwater Marine Aquarium after being found in the skimmer of a condo’s swimming pool in Indian Shores. 

CMA officials say the turtle was disoriented, likely due to artificial lighting along the beach.

The hatchling will remain with CMA until they can coordinate a release out at the weed line via boat transport. 

The sea turtle was named Amaretto.   

It's the first loggerhead hatchling of the year that needed to be admitted into rehab at CMA.
