Many in Lakeland are mourning the death of a young man with big dreams.
Ivan Brooks II was just 15. He had been fighting leukemia for months.
According to our partner newspaper the Lakeland Ledger, many people who knew him, including his teachers, had no idea he was sick.
What they did know all about was Ivan's drive to help others. He was working to establish a nonprofit that would provide clothing to young men to help build their confidence and motivate them to work towards completing their education.
Ivan's family hopes to continue his work.
