Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a driver who fled the scene of a crash that killed a scooter rider overnight in Largo.
Daniel Irizarry, 37, of Largo was riding a scooter on U.S. 19 and 150th Avenue around 12:40 a.m. when he was hit from behind by a 2004 Nissan Maxima, police said.
Irizzary was thrown onto the the roadway and was run over by second vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the Maxima remained at the scene, but the second driver kept going. The second vehicle was described by a witness as a dark-colored 4-door compact car that was missing hubcaps and had black steel wheels, police said.
