A construction trailer that caught fire on New Year's Day has been ruled as suspicious, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

Crews responded to the trailer fire at a vacant lot west of the intersection of Fair Oaks Ave and West Shore Blvd at 7:20 p.m.

Firefighters found the trailer fully involved and began fighting the fire.

Two trailers were parked side-by-side, parallel to West Shore Blvd inside a locked gate, fenced-in area. The fire originated from inside the trailer furthest from the street and spread to the trailer next to it.

The Fire Marshal's preliminary report indicates the fire started inside the trailer on some combustible materials.

Damage to the trailers and their contents is estimated at $55,000. No one was injured.

A third trailer is located on the lot and was not damaged.
