Man dies after crashing into tree off U.S. 301 in Manatee

A man was killed Saturday night when he crashed into a tree off U.S. 301 in northern Manatee County, authorities said.

Ismael Villareal, 25, of Wimauma was traveling east on Buckeye Road around 10:15 p.m. when he ran the stop sign at U.S. 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Villareal's 2012 Dodge Journey veered onto shoulder of U.S 301 and struck a tree.

Villareal died at the scene.
