Deputies have arrested a man they say shot at a vehicle in the Labor Ready parking lot in Bradenton last Friday.
Gelasius K. Averette, 30, is facing charges of shooting into an occupied vehicle.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Amanda Frey, 25, was backing her Jeep out of the parking lot on Friday morning when a man, later identified as Averette, started yelling at her.
Deputies said Averette pulled out a handgun and fired three bullets at Frey’s vehicle.
No one was injured in the shooting, although Frey said one of the bullets came close to hitting her 1-year-old daughter, who was in a car seat.
Averette fled before deputies arrived. He was arrested Tuesday night.
