We're getting a closer, more detailed look at what will be the pier in St. Petersburg.
Designers showed off a 3-D version of the Pier Park to city council members Thursday morning.
During the workshop, they updated the city on what amenities will be part of the new pier.
They include an education center for field trips in meetings, an events plaza for concerts and festivals, and a water play area with a deck that submerges into the bay.
Pier designer Vince Lee says it's all about diversity.
"It's a good place to do different scale things somewhere on the park at all times," said Lee. "That means that you can actually program very heavily. And programming public space is what makes it successful."
Designers plan to offer more detailed renderings and animations of Pier Park in January.
