Two people are dead and two seriously injured following a crash on State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel on Sunday night, authorities said.
Barbara Janet Charlebois, 38, of Lutz was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry west on S.R. 54 near Ernest Drive around 8:50 p.m. when she veered onto the right shoulder, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Charlebois overcorrected and traveled into the eastbound lane, where her Toyota collided with a 2014 Buick Verano being driven by Bridget Mary Kent, 76, of Ontario, Canada.
The Camry was redirected south and came to rest on the outside shoulder of S.R. 54. The Buick spun and stopped in the eastbound lane.
Charlebois died at the scene.
All three occupants - Kent and two passengers - of the Verano were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries.
One of the passengers, William E. Kent, 78, of Ontario, Canada, later died from his injuries at St. Joseph's Hospital.
