A Seminole man is behind bars after authorities say he made threats to a Bay area mosque.

Martin Schnitzler, 43, is accused of threatening to kill, injure and blow up worshipers inside of a Pinellas Park mosque.

In an arrest report Schnitzler told authorities he was mad about the attacks in Paris when he made the call.

He also left his name and his number showed up on the caller ID, according to authorities. Which didn’t make it hard to track him down.

Leaders from the Council on American-Islamic Relations provided a copy of the recorded message and reacted to the threats.

On the call a man can be heard saying, “I just wanted to let you know with all that’s coming up and what’s going on with France we’re tired of your bleep.”

CAIR’s Executive Director, Hassan Shibly said he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“I was horrified. It was scary,” he said. “This man was threatening to firebomb some community center, to shoot 2-year-old children, to massacre members of our faith community. To massacre fellow Americans.”

Bay News 9 reported this weekend about a call at another mosque in Pinellas that sounds a lot like this one. But so far investigators have only charged him with crimes at one mosque.
