A Riverview woman is behind bars after deputies said she left her baby in a car while she went shopping.
Jasmine Emani Jones, 21, parked her car at University Square Mall at noon Thursday and went into Macy's, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Jones left her 1-year-old child in the car seat inside the car, deputies said. They say the windows of her car were rolled up, and the engine wasn't running when mall security found the unattended child.
The baby was sweating, but was otherwise uninjured.
Surveillance video showed the baby was left unattended for about 40 minutes.
Deputies said the interior of the car smelled of marijuana, and a search of the car found a small quantity - less than 20 grams - of marijuana.
Jones was arrested on charges of felony child neglect and possession of marijuana.
