More details have been released about a motorcyclist who fell to his death off the Park Boulevard bridge on Sunday.

Justin Ennis, 24, of Pinellas Park, was riding a 2009 Suzuki north on Gulf Boulevard when the Florida Highway Patrol said he took the sweeping curve to the bridge at a high rate of speed.

Troopers say Ennis lost control of the motorcycle and hit the bridge's inside barrier wall, which threw him over the bridge to the ground below.

Troopers initially said he fell 26 feet to the ground, but later said he fell between 35 and 40 feet to the ground.

They also initially said he was not wearing a helmet, but troopers later said he was wearing a helmet at the time, and that the helmet was found later at the scene.

Ennis' death remains under investigation.
