Gov. Rick Scott recently announced the appointment of Ardian Zika to the District Board of Trustees (DBOT) for Pasco-Hernando State College.

Zika, of Land O’ Lakes, is the commercial banking director and senior vice president for Florida Community Bank for the Tampa Bay region. Zika has more than 12 years of combined commercial banking and lending experience at financial institutions.

Zika previously served as a gubernatorially-appointed member on the Florida Council on Homelessness. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Louisiana Tech University and his MBA from Saint Leo University.

Zika fills a vacant seat on the college’s board.

"We are very pleased by the appointment of Mr. Zika to the PHSC District Board of Trustees and we welcome his leadership and experience,” said Katherine M. Johnson, Ed.D., PHSC president.

The board term for Zika runs until May 31, 2018.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
