A judge has ruled John Jonchuck, the man accused of dropping 5-year-old daughter off a Pinellas County bridge, is incompetent to stand trial in her death.

Jonchuck is accused of dropping his daughter Phoebe to her death off the southbound approach to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Jan. 8. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

Earlier this month, two doctors conducted an examination of Jonchuck and ruled him "mentally incompetent."

Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Chris Helinger agreed with the ruling on Thursday.

Jonchuck could be sent to a hospital to monitor his mental health.

A follow-up hearing has been scheduled for June 9.
