Two other men were also wounded by the gunfire, and they were taken in private vehicles to St. Joseph's and Tampa General hospitals. Shaun Smith, 29, and Leroy Monsalvatge, 22, were listed in serious but stable condition.

Carmine's owner Carmine Iavarone said in a statement he is working with police to "gather facts of why this occurred and taking all measures to ensure all staff is safe." He said the restaurant was not open at the time.
