A 25-year-old Frostproof man was killed early Sunday when his vehicle crashed into a tree in Lakeland, police said.
Inigo P. Hernandez was driving a 2014 Dodge pickup truck east on Parkway Frontage Road around 3:10 a.m. when he failed to negotiate the intersection of Old Road 37, which curves to the right, police said. The truck struck a guard rail and then a tree.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Investigators said there was no indication of braking and that Hernandez was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
