The Lakewood Ranch emergency response team is looking to expand from 250 to 300 members.

The group is made up of volunteers that provide basic first aid and assist victims after a natural disaster.

Several training sessions are taking place at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall starting in April.

According to partner newspaper the Bradenton Herald, scheduled training sessions will be held at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall for new volunteers from 7 p.m to 9:30 p.m. April 16, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. April 23.

There will also be a session from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25 at the East Manatee Fire Administration building.
