A Lithia man died Monday night after crashing his 2015 Chevrolet Corvette off Channing Park Road at about 80 mph, authorities said.
Around 7 p.m., Brian Manning, 44, was speeding westbound when he veered off the road and over a 6-inch curb, shearing off a TECO light pole and hitting two oak trees, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Manning was extricated form the car and transported to an area hospital, where he later died, the sheriff's office said.
