A pedestrian struck and killed by a train in Davenport on Monday has been identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Stewart.

He was last seen by his family when he left home around 1 p.m. yesterday to walk to work, according to deputies.

According to family members, Stewart often walks to work on the train tracks, listening to loud music through his earbuds.

The Amtrak engineer told deputies he thought the man walking on the tracks was wearing earbuds. Deputies found earbuds near him on the scene yesterday.

An autopsy was conducted this morning. He received multiple traumatic injuries, and his cause of death is pending toxicology.
