Bay area residents with a suspended license due to a traffic ticket or court fee will have a chance to clear their record.

Several Clerks of Circuit Court are taking part in a statewide campaign called "Operation Green Light."

The campaign gives residents who are delinquent in traffic tickets and court fines and fees the chance to pay those debts in full without being obligated to pay the collections surcharge applicable in their county.

Florida law allows a collections surcharge of up to 40 percent, and some collection agencies charge the limit.

If your driver's license has been suspended due to non-payment, it will be reinstated after you pay the delinquent ticket or fee in full.

The campaign is taking place for one day only, on Saturday, April 18. Payment will be accepted in the form of cash, check, money order or credit card. Payment by phone is also available for Citrus, Pasco, Polk and Sarasota counties.
