Despite the chance of a few showers in the region today, the area of low pressure off the east coast of Florida is not expected to have much of an impact on the Bay area.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, skies will be mostly to partly sunny, with breezy conditions and a few isolated showers.

"There have been a few showers in Polk County this morning. There is a chance of a few showers in Tampa Bay this afternoon," Marquez said. "But for the most part, there won't be a lot of rain and we'll have another warm and sunny day."

Meanwhile, the low pressure system in the Atlantic will move to the north, keeping rain on the east coast of the state.

It won't change the Bay area forecast, as the region stays dry and gets slightly warmer.

Today's high temperature will be about 86 degrees, and afternoon temps will  inch toward 90 degree by the end of the work week.

"The Bay area rain chances are even lower Thursday," Marquez said. "And we will have more sunshine."
