Troopers say a Bradenton man was drunk when he sped the wrong way down a road, crashing head-on into a car and then slamming into a home.

The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 20th Street W and 46th Avenue Drive W.

Guadalupe Hernandez-Lopez, 41, was driving south in the northbound lanes of 20th Street W when he crashed into the front of a white Chevy Impala, troopers said. The collision sent the Impala, driven by Samantha Wade, 22, of Bradenton backwards.

Hernandez-Lopez's pick-up truck continued south and hit an unoccupied Dodge Caravan parked in front of a home, then crashed into the home, troopers said.

The crash caused the south and east walls of the home to cave in.

Wade was seriously injured and taken to Blake Medical Center. Hernandez-Lopez received minor injuries.

No one inside the home was injured.

Hernandez-Lopez faces charges of DUI with serious bodily injury, DUI with property damage and driving without a license resulting in injury.
