St. Pete Police has released surveillance video taken from a neighbor's home of the suspect and vehicle connected to two robberies involving realtors.

"We do believe there was a level of planning and calculation that went into both of these crimes that makes this suspect extremely dangerous," said Asst. Chief Jim Previtera.

Two female realtors were showing homes Wednesday when they were robbed at gunpoint. Police say one was tied up with zip ties and a phone call was made to her husband to request a ransom.

In the second case, the man robbed a woman.

Police released a portion of the 911 call she made asking for help.

"I'm a realtor. I was showing a home and someone just robbed me. He took my cell phone, my car keys and he was asking for money," the unidentified woman said.

One incident happened in the 1700 block of Oxford St. N. and the other in the 5800 block of 12th Street N. The surveillance video was taken from a neighbor's home on Oxford Street.

The suspect in both cases is described as a white man, mid 40's, 5'5" to 5'8" medium build. He was wearing a straw hat, a dark blue shirt and black pants. He was driving a silver Nissan Murano.

Police have released a computer-generated composite sketch of him based on the description.

Time stamps on the video are as follows;

  • At 00:13 you see the suspect's car drive by
  • At 00:26 you see the victim's car pull up - the suspect's car is already sitting there behind the palm fronds on the camera
  • At 00:27:08 you see the suspect walk from his car to meet the victim, then they walk to the house together
  • At 00:42:52 you see the suspect walk away from the house to his car
  • At 00:43:33 the suspect leaves

Police said the man called numerous real estate agents trying to set up meetings to see houses.

They released audio of one of the phone calls he made.

"Yes, Hi, this is Robert Evans. I'm calling about a property you have listed. If you would give me a call at 813...appreciate it. Thank you. Bye."

The Pinellas Realtors Organization is alerting all of its members to be on the lookout, and to not show homes to a man who identifies himself as Robert Evans
