A driver police say caused a multi-vehicle crash in Pinellas Park Wednesday has been arrested.

Police say Matthew Rhine, 25, of Pinellas Park, was driving a stolen 2008 Chevy Malibu when he ran a stop sign at 66 Street and 66th Ave. N., colliding with a 2012 Ford van, which then crashed into 2005 International truck.

Officers also say Rhine was driving with a suspended license and had two juveniles in the car.

Police say Rhine and the two juveniles had to be extricated by rescue personnel and were all transported to the hospital as trauma patients.

Shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rhine was discharged from the hospital and transported to the Pinellas County Jail where he was charged with the crash and the theft of the motor vehicle.

He remains in jail on $20,000 bond.
