Deputies are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault a realtor during a showing Monday afternoon.

At approximately 1:35 p.m., deputies responded to an attempted sexual battery of a 69-year-old woman in the Whitfield Estates area in southern Manatee County.

During the showing, deputies said the suspect went into a bathroom of the house and flushed the toilet. They said the suspect then yelled to the victim that there was a leak in the bathroom.

The victim went to check on what was going on and deputies said the suspect tried to force himself on her. The victim told the suspect that the owners of the house were nearby and would be there shortly. After hearing this, the suspect fled the house.

The suspect is described as a white male who identified himself as Jim. He is middle aged, approximately 6’0”, 250 pounds, bald or balding hair, last seen wearing camo shorts, a grey polo shirt with high socks and white sneakers.

"You go along year after year and everything's fine," said Kim Marinez, Sara Bay Real Estate. "Then all of a sudden you get a funny feeling every so often and then it turns out fine and you shake it off."

The victim said the suspect smelled of cigarette smoke. He was driving a newer model full size extended cab pick-up truck, either black or navy blue in color.

"I am going to take a lot better precautions," said Whitfield. "I'm gonna make sure that people know where I am."

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.

The incident comes two months after a man was arrested in the armed robberies of two female realtors in St. Petersburg.
