An employee at a St. Petersburg nightclub has been arrested on drug charges.

Terance Lamont Sampson, 35, was arrested Thursday for selling narcotics to undercover detectives. Sampson was charged with possession of and selling marijuana.

The arrest came after the department's Vice and Narcotics Division, along with the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco and the St. Petersburg Fire Marshal, conducted an operation at the Something Different nightclub at 2420 Central Avenue.

The operation was a result of complaints from residents and business owners about the bar. In the past year, police responded 42 times to incidents at the bar, ranging from drug sales, armed robbery, aggravated battery and attempted homicide.

Also, the Fire Marshal found 18 fire code violations.

The business was given 30 days to rectify the issues.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
