You can learn a lot from a young man names Charles Claybaker.

This St. Petersburg native has spent over six years in the U.S. Army as a Ranger.  He was serving his fifth tour in Afghanistan when his aircraft hit the ground in the Afghan mountains at over 180 mph.  Six lives were lost.  Claybaker suffered major spinal, hip and leg injuries.   He returned home and continue his rehabilitation.

He was recently presented with a new home from the organization 'Building Homes for Heroes' and out of that act of kindnes, Charles and his wife Kandice have turned their attention to the ploght of homeless vets.  They created the D.U.S.T.O.F.F. Foundation.  The organization helps homless and transitioning veterans across Tampa Bay.

D.U.S.T.O.F.F has already started handing out survival packs to homeless vets that include toothbrushes, soap, razors and more.

Claybaker also envisions a vet center to include transitional housing, office space with computers and a disable accessible gym.

With all of this going on Claybaker says there's no time for this hero talk.

"Oh no.  You know it's not heroic to do the right think.  You know what I mean?  I don't consider that.  It's just being a good American."
