Pinellas County public schools will operate on their normal schedules Monday despite the threat of heavy rain, the district said.

"Under the advisement of Pinellas County's Emergency Management division, the school district will open for normal operations," the district said in a news release. "School district safety managers met regularly with the Pinellas County Emergency Operations Center through the weekend to stay apprised of the status of potential weather conditions for Pinellas County.

"Pinellas County is not currently under a watch or warning for severe weather. Significant rainfall is expected, so please plan accordingly."
