The heavy rains have stopped but now comes the cleanup - especially in drenched Pasco County.

Clean up crews have been out in force in the area, helping homeowners get the water, mud and muck out of their homes.

The New Port Richey area was especially hard hit after the Anclote River flooded. Homeowners in Palm Harbor, south Tampa, Pasco's Trinity area and Temple Terrace also reported flooding in their neighborhoods.

Tom Pitt with ServiceMaster Restore are been making the rounds all week.

"There's still so many people that's been affected by this, that we've pulled other Service Masters in from as far as Naples, Ft. Myers," Pitt said. "We've got some from Lakeland."

Pitt said the overflow business has the company handling as many as 20 calls an hour to repair damage from this week's flooding.

Joanna Brittain said she went to the bathroom at 6 a.m. Tuesday and splashed into about two inches of water. That's when she contacted Pitt's team. The team came in and first dried the home before cleaning everything from documents to carpets and protecting from later mold problems.

Pitt said despite the heavy rains ending, there's plenty of cleanup work ahead.

"Because even though we're not having the rains right now, all that flood water that's inside of the fields and everything else is still migrating towards the lower areas," he said.
