There's a major change on Interstate 275 in Tampa today.

A portion of the northbound lanes of I-275 in the Westshore area that was closed as part of the massive ongoing construction are now back open.

It's a little different than what drivers are used to.

The new alignment is from east of Lois Avenue to east of Himes Avenue.

During this phase of construction, traffic now has reduced lane widths in the left and middle lanes east of Himes Avenue.

Drivers should also be alert to new merging conditions for traffic entering from Dale Mabry Highway and Himes Avenue.

The Florida Department of Transportation said the project is ahead of schedule and should be completed by next summer.
