A loaded 9 mm Glock was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the Rivercrest subdivision in Riverview, detectives say.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, detectives are investigating several vehicle burglaries that took place in the subdivision in the overnight hours of Jan. 7.

They say it appears as though the suspects targeted vehicles that had unlocked doors. The burglars mostly took small items, with the exception of the loaded handgun, which was left in the console of one of the vehicles.

Deputies released surveillance video showing the suspects trying to open the doors of several vehicles in the subdivision. The suspects could possibly be juveniles.

Officials say residents should remember to lock their vehicles and to take valuables out of their vehicles.
