A 40-year-old man was killed Saturday morning in a crash in Tampa.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Ahmed Benabidiba was killed when his 2005 Honda Accord collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox at Fletcher Avenue and Kitten Drive just after 5 a.m.
Deputies said the Accord, going eastbound on Fletcher crossed the raised grassy median into the westbound lanes, striking the Chevy head on.
Benabidiba was taken to Florida Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Sharlean Driggins, 37, of Wesley Chapel, was transported to Tampa General Hospital in serious, but stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
