The City of Tampa will extend sandbag availability. Sandbags will be available to city residents at three locations. Bobby Hicks Pool, Barksdale Active Adult Center and Jackson Heights Playground.
 
Hours of operation until further notice from: 10am- 7pm

Residents may pick-up sandbags at the following locations:

Bobby Hicks Pool
4201 W. Mango Ave.

Barksdale Active Adult Center @ MacFarlane Park
1801 N. Lincoln Ave.

Jackson Heights Community Center

3310 E. Lake Avenue
 
Tampa residents interested in receiving sandbags must show identification verifying residence within the city limits. A valid driver's license, utility bill, or electric bill will serve as appropriate identification.  There is a ten bag limit.
 
In addition, the City of Tampa requests that residents with a storm drain on their property check to ensure that the drain is clear of all debris including leaves and trash.
 
Residents should report flooding issues by calling (813) 274-3101.
 
Safety Precautions
 
During any heavy rainfall or severe weather event, the City of Tampa encourages the motoring public to heed traffic advisories, obey traffic signs/detours, and to exercise caution when driving in and around standing water.
 
•    Do not drive through water – it is difficult to determine how deep the water is.
•    It is best to avoid driving unless necessary.
•    Treat non-functioning traffic signals as a 4-way stop.
•    If you see a road closed, please follow the detour signs.
•    Avoid any downed or hanging power lines - they may be live.

 

MANATEE COUNTY

 

In response to recent heavy rains and out of an abundance of caution for additional showers from Matthew, sandbags will be distributed Wednesday until 6 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following locations:

Buffalo Creek Park, 7550 69th St. E., Palmetto                                  

G.T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Ave. Dr. W., Bradenton                  

Lakewood Ranch Park, 5350 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Bradenton   

Stormwater Ops, 5511 39th St. E., Bradenton                               

Rubonia Community Center, 1309 72nd St. E., Palmetto                                 

 

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

 

Hillsborough County is making sandbag materials available to the public at all three County Public Works Service Units.
 
Sandbags will be available at these units until 7 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
 
West Service Unit - 9805 Sheldon Road in Tampa
South Service Unit -  8718 Old Big Bend Road in Gibsonton
East Service Unit - 4702 Sydney Road in Plant City
 
Materials will be available for Hillsborough County residents to make their own sandbags. Each resident must sign their name and provide their home address acknowledging the receipt of 25 sandbags or less.

 

PASCO COUNTY

 

Pasco County has opened the following sand bag locations:

30908 Warder Road, San Antonio (C-Barn), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
3032 Collier Pkwy, Land O' Lakes (Rec Center), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
38042 Pasco Ave. Dade City (Police Department), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
6907 Dairy Road, Zephyrhills (FS No. 2), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
7530 State Street, New Port Richey (WGPC), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
4825 Little Road, New Port Richey (Mitchell Park), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
