A bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon after she was hit by a vehicle.

Police said Brenda Myers, 55, was riding down 41st Street in St. Pete with her son. Her son crossed the street and made it safely to the median, but when Myers tried to cross, she rode into the path of oncoming traffic. 

Police said Myers was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in life-threatening condition. 

Myers was struck by a Mercedes Benz, driven by Isabella Wong. Police said Wong was uninjured. 

The St. Petersburg Police Department is still investigating this incident.
