The University of South Florida is hosting a festive lecture on Monday.

  • Speak will focus on the 'American Christmas' and the evolution of Santa

Starting at 5 p.m., members of USF’s religion department will be speaking on the ‘Genealogy of Santa Claus.’

Del deChant, chair of the Department of Religious Studies, will take listeners on the evolution of ol’ St. Nick, from a religious figure to a worldwide cultural symbol.

The lecture will be hosted at the USF Marshall Student Center, Room 2709, located at 4103 USF Cedar Circle, Tampa.
