Someone shot 39-year-old Jimmie Lee Rogers Jr. in the parking lot of his Avenue J apartment early in the morning on November 18.  Police say they don’t have any suspects yet.

"No matter how small, we need the help from the public,” said Police Chief Charlie Bird during a press conference with family members.

Rogers' sister, LaShonda Rogers, believes someone knows who killed her brother.

"You guys might be scared or whatever but we need someone to come forward and tell us what happened," she said.

Family members and police later went to the neighborhood where Rogers was killed. They put up signs and handed out posters offering a reward for information.

"We just need all the help we can to solve this case,” said LaShonda. “We want justice for him. We need justice for him."

Heartland Crime Stoppers is offering a three thousand dollar reward in the case. Tipsters can remain anonymous when they call 800-226-TIPS.
