Two New Port Richey men have been arrested on drug trafficking charges after deputies say they were caught stealing electricity.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said the investigation was initiated by Withlacoochee Power. They reported to authorities that the theft had been occurring for at least 100 days and was in the amount of about $3,600. 

The investigation ended with the arrests of Elcido Rodriguez and Milvio Cruz and the seizure of 64 marijuana plants weighing 121 pounds. 

Rodriguez and Cruz were arrested on charges of cultivation for marijuana, trafficking in marijuana and theft of services. 

Three rooms of their New Port Richey home were converted to grow and harvest marijuana, deputies said.
