Here's what you need to know about the Tampa Bay area's weather forecast for Thursday and the rest of the week:

  • Friday should be cool with gusty winds
  • Temperatures will struggle to get out of 50s
  • Weekend will be cool with clouds returning

The front has passed through and the cooler air is already rushing into the area. The last of the rain will move out overnight with clearing skies early Friday morning.

There will be a drastic change when you head out the door Friday morning with much colder air in place.

Lows will be in the 40s for most spots, but upper 30s from Hernando County northward into Citrus County.

Rainfall totals as of 6 p.m.:

  • Crystal River  2.17
  • Inverness  1.14
  • Brooksville  0.96
  • Tampa  0.74
  • Clearwater .50
  • St. Pete  0.25

The great news is we will return to sunny skies, but even with the sunshine it will be a chilly day by Florida standards with highs only reaching the upper 50s.

There will also be a strong wind from the north, resulting in a ‘chilly’ feel.

That strong wind will result in bad boating conditions and a Small Craft Advisory is in effect.

There will be some clouds with a small rain chance over the weekend, but the main story will be the persistent cool air that will stick around all the way into next week.
