Police are investigating an apparent homicide Thursday after a man's body was found near a St. Petersburg apartment complex.
A teenager walking to school found the body of Shermaun Akins, 32, near the parking lot of the Alta Mar at Broadwater apartments, located at 3856 34th Terrace South.
Police say Akins died of upper body trauma. They say he lived at the apartment complex.
