Renovations are underway at Raymond James Stadium.

  • New LED screens being installed
  • New luxury suites and a digital banner
  • Work to be finished in by end of August

Crews have started installing the first LED video display and it's five times larger than the old one.

When the work is complete, there will be screens in practically every corner of the stadium.

There will also be new luxury suites and a digital banner.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers say these changes will create a better experience for fans and lure other events here too.

“All of these enhancements, as well as the enhancements that will come along next year prior to the 2017 season will only enhance our ability to attract large events, including the Super Bowl,” said Brian Ford, Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer.

Tampa recently lost out on its Super Bowl bid, partly because of the conditions of Raymond James stadium.

Work is expected to be finished by the time the football season kicks off - at the end of August.

It’s a $100 million renovation project. Fourteen total video displays being installed each of the video displays on the end zones measure 60 feet high and are 160 feet wide.

There are $5.7 million LEDs in each display. The project is on schedule. This is the first phase.

“It’ll be better than sitting in your living room,” said Ford.
