Drivers in Clearwater should expect traffic delays at the intersection of State Rd 580 and McMullen Booth Road for the next nine days.

Pinellas County Utilities are replacing two large water valves buried under the intersection. One to two lanes will be closed during work hours westbound on SR 580 and southbound on McMullen Booth Road.

Pinellas County Division Director of Utilities Engineering, Kevin Becotte said that now is the perfect time to start.

“Well, right now is a good time because the school is out so we have less traffic in that area. And so we’re taking a window of opportunity to go ahead and get this done,” Becotte said.

The Pinellas County Utilities believes water customers will not experience any service disruption during the repairs.
