There were no injuries early Wednesday when an SUV slammed into a Port Richey home causing extensive damage.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 23-year-old New Port Richey woman lost control of her 2000 Ford Explorer in the 9200 block of Greenbriar Lane just before 1 a.m.
The SUV hydroplaned on the wet road and crashed into the house. Troopers did not say what caused the crash but did say it was raining at the time and the woman was driving too fast for the conditions.
There were no injuries to the driver or her passenger.
No one inside of the home was hurt as they were in the other side of the home at the time of the crash.
The driver was cited for driving too fast for the wet conditions and not having proof of insurance. Officials have not said if she will face charges in the crash.
Engineering crews responded to the scene later in the morning to survey the damage to determine if the structure is sound. There is no word yet on the results of their tests.
