Manatee County is accepting applications for one opening on the Tourist Development Council which makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the expenditures of Tourist Tax Revenues. 

The Tourist Development Council is comprised of nine volunteer members who make recommendations to the Board on the effective operation of the projects set forth in the Tourist Development Plan and the uses for which Tourist Development Tax revenues may be expended. 

Eligible applicants include registered Manatee voters who own or operate (General Managers) motels, hotels, RV parks or other tourist accommodations in Manatee County that are subject to the 5 percent resort tax in Manatee County.  All applicants must be registered voters in Manatee County.  

Applications are due Oct. 10 and may be found online at www.mymanatee.org/advisory_boards

The Tourist Development Council typically meets on the third Monday of every other month at 9 a.m. at various locations throughout Manatee County.  The abbreviated term for this seat expires June 30, 2017 at which time the TDC member must re-apply to retain the seat.
