A Hernando County family is desperately searching for answers in the disappearance of 30-year-old Paul Marvella.

Marvella was last seen and heard from on Sunday. He works for the company Alternative Transportation Services, which transports the deceased.

  • Paul Marvella hasn't been seen since weekend
  • Family fears he crashed vehicle
  • Anyone with information asked to call 352-754-6830

He was returning from a work trip to Jacksonville when he went missing.

Marvella's girlfriend, Kristen Gould, said the past three days have felt like an eternity.

"Paul's my heart, I love Paul. Paul is everything to me," Gould said.

"I have been out every day. When he didn't show up by 11 o'clock (Sunday) I had started driving, not really knowing where I was going, just driving," Gould said.

Gould said Marvella had been talking to one of his friends on the phone around 8 p.m. and told him he was in the area of Starke. She said that same friend called Paul back about 20 minutes later and his phone went to voicemail.

"Paul's a really good guy, he's a really responsible guy. His phone is never off. This is incredibly out of character for him," Gould said.

The family has been searching by car, foot and plane and they think Paul may have crashed somewhere in a wooded area.

"He was an Eagle Scout," said family member Wendy Marvella. "Even if he was hurt, he would crawl somewhere unless he was so bad, he's staying put. It's been three days and I know in my heart I can't go there, to the worst, but somebody has got to find the car."

The family is asking anyone who may have seen Paul Marvella to call the Hernando County Sheriff's Office at 352-754-6830 or your local law enforcement agency.

He was last seen wearing black dress pants and a dress shirt.

He was driving a black, 2014 GMC Yukon, with Florida tag DNSK41.
