The Dade City Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Tuesday around 6:40 a.m.

Police said 82-year-old Mary Waddel was crossing US 301 south of the crosswalk near Morningside Drive when an Hyundai Elantra traveling south struck and killed the woman.
Police said the accident occurred before sunrise and the woman was wearing dark clothing, making it difficult for the driver to see her.
The woman was pronounced dead on scene.
The 55-year-old Dade City man driving the vehicle was not charged, according to police.
The intersection of US 301 and Morningside Drive is currently closed due to the investigation.
