A 32-year-old North Carolina man was killed Thursday night while crossing US 41 in Hillsborough County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the accident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Jan. 5 at US 41 and Austin Street.
The victim was crossing US 41 just south of Austin Street when he walked into the path of a Chevy Pickup, FHP said.
The truck, driven by Clyde Slaughter, 66, collided with the pedestrian. The 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details have been released.
