The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy-involved crash Saturday night.
- Man charged with DUI after deputy-involved crash
- John Clark pulled out in front of Deputy Nestor, causing crash
- Clark arrested on DUI charges
The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. at Walsingham Road and Seminole Blvd. in Largo.
According to officials, Deputy Erin Nestor was traveling southbound on Seminole Blvd. in a marked Chevrolet Tahoe with her emergency lights and sirens activated, responding to a call for assistance, when she was hit.
Officials said John Clark, 69, was traveling east after exiting from the Niagro Tap Bar and Grill and made a right hand turn to go southbound on Seminole Blvd. right into the path of Deputy Nestor, causing the crash.
Clark was transported to Largo Medical Center Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputy Nestor was treated at the scene for minor injuries, officials said.
Investigators said impairment appears to be a factor in the crash. After Clark was treated and released from the hospital, he admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the crash.
Clark's blood alcohol level was a .114/.106 and he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
