A fire erupted at the Plantain Products Company facility in Tampa on Saturday evening, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

• Fire was under control after 4 hours

The 2-alarm fire started at about 5 p.m. at the factory on Causeway Boulevard.

Workers were inside the building at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported, according to HCFR.

After four hours, firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

Eastbound lanes of Causeway Boulevard were shut down.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  

The Plantain Products Co. is the maker of Chifles Chips.
