The Citrus County Sheriff's Office released the name of the shooting suspect at the Sabal Trail Pipeline construction site last weekend.

The man was identified as James Leroy Marker, 66, of Chokoloskee, which is in Collier County.

Officials said the incident started in Marion County around 9 a.m. Sunday when the suspect, Marker, began shooting at the Sabal Pipeline equipment with a high powered rifle. 

Deputies say Marker led Marion deputies on a chase into Citrus County on Highway 200. Citrus deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol joined the pursuit. 

After crashing along U.S. Highway 41 near Floral City Park, officials said Marker engaged deputies and was subsequently shot and killed. 

The sheriff's office said no one other than Marker was injured during the whole situation. 

The sheriff's office said Marker caused "extensive damage: to the section of pipeline in Marion County.
