Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a fire overnight at a hotel and spa in Ybor City.

Fire crews were called out to 1512 E 8th Ave around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. They found heavy smoke and flames coming from the Ybor Resort & Spa.
Crews were able to put out the fire and keep it from spreading to neighboring businesses, but said it was a challenge because the building is so old.
The resort is currently closed so no one was inside during the fire.
Investigators determined that a person or several people illegally entered the building and set fires at multiple points, causing moderate smoke and fire damage throughout the building.
Damage to the building is estimated at $100,000.
