Polk County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a crash on Cypress Gardens Boulevard in Winter Haven that killed one and injured another.
Investigators said the crash occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Cypress Gardens Boulevard and Helena Road.
Two vehicles, an SUV and another car, were involved in the crash. The driver of the SUV was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger in the SUV was transported to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Winter Haven Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
As of 10:05 p.m., Cypress Gardens Boulevard is shut down in both directions at Helena Road, as investigators continue to work the scene.
